Julio Hernandez established Maiz de la Vida in 2020. Starting as a food truck known for birria tacos and artisan corn tortillas. Now, after being featured on Netflix and winning multiple awards, including runner-up from the James Beard Foundation, Julio will be opening a brick and mortar restaurant in downtown Nashville in Spring 2024.
Julio sets himself apart by grinding his own maiz into fresh, unique mesa. his process is, from start to finish, hands on and intentional.
